Jessica Pegula took on Katherine Sebov at the
Miami Open and she smashed her in two simple sets 6-3 6-1 to make a winning start at the event.
Pegula entered this matchup as the heavy favourite because she's facing a player who generally doesn't play tennis on this level often. Sebov held her own pretty good at the start of the match but as soon as Pegula played herself in a good rhythm, the match was pretty much all but over. She took the first set 6-3 thanks to her supreme shot-making ability overwhelming her opponent.
The second set was even starker in that regard because Pegula smashed Sebov even harder in that one. The score was 6-1 in the second set with Pegula moving on to the next round. She's one of the dark horse favourites at this event because she has the necessary powers to overwhelm opponents in conditions like these.
