Known for her consistency on the court, tennis star Jessica Pegula has accomplished another noteworthy feat as she recently reached a new milestone on the WTA Rankings table.
The American has been a staple among the upper echelon on the WTA Tour. Her solid play and consistent results have paid off, as she has now spent 100 consecutive weeks in the top 10 of the WTA Rankings. The World No.5 first broke into the elite group on June 6, 2022 and has maintained a firm grip on her position ever since.
The Buffalo native has been the picture of consistency during her tenure in the top 10. Pegula reached a career high ranking of World No.3 in October 2022, and has reached at least the quarterfinals in all four Grand slam events since breaking into the top 10 in 2022. This enabled her to play at the exclusive WTA Finals in 2022 and 2023, where she lost to Iga Swiatek at last year's edition.
Pegula's stock continues to rise, as she is the second highest ranked American on the WTA Tour at World No.5. The 30-year old has in fact spent 84 of 100 weeks ranked inside the top 5. She currently trails compatriot Coco Gauff, who sits at the No.3 position. However, Pegula is yet to capture a title this season, although she did reach the semifinals in San Diego and Charleston.
