Karolina Pliskova is back to winning matches as the Czech player downed a very tricky
Marta Kostyuk in Strasbourg 6-4 6-2.
Marta Kostyuk is not having a very good year which is understandable considering the situation in her home country of Ukraine and how passionately she is invested in it. Karolina Pliskova on the other hand did not play for a very long time due to a crazy off-season injury before the start of the season. She returned to the courts recently but did not play that well.
Today. in Strasbourg, she delivered her best performance in a few weeks to take down a very tricky opponent who will beat you if you allow her. The first set did not open well for Pliskova who fell behind 1-3 after a shaky start. She did not serve that well and was missing quite a few balls with Kostyuk doing very well too. Things shifted after that as Pliskova found her footing.
She started to play better and Kostyu k crumbled in the pressure. Pliskova battled back to 4-4 and then added another break to make it 6-4. In the 2nd set, Pliskova faced issues in the first game where she was forced to save break points. She did that and later broke her opponent to take a 4-1 lead. Pliskova finished it off with 6-2.
