WTA releases their current 2022 Fall calendar highlighted by 500 event in Tokyo Japan & 1000 event in Guadalajara Mexico #WTA
The WTA Calendar has been updated to combine with the fall schedule up until late October before the WTA Finals.
While no tournaments will be held in China due to the ongoing Peng Shuai situation, Japan and South Korea will hold tournaments during mid September highlighted by Toray PPO Tennis which is a WTA 500 in Tokyo.
It is a mix of established and new tournaments with the usual Ostrava Open, Tallinn Open and Transylvania Open all pencilled in for late September and early October. Alongside trips to San Diego and the season before the WTA Finals will conclude with the pre mooted change to a Guadalajara WTA 1000.
“The 2022 WTA fall calendar will provide a robust amount of job opportunities for players in a regional calendar flow that will take us through to the end of the season. I am extremely grateful to all of our tournament organizers for their support of women’s tennis and their commitment to staging world class Hologic WTA Tour events,” said Steve Simon, WTA Chairman & CEO.
