The Ostrava Open, known for sponsorship reasons as the AGEL Open, was an annual women’s tennis tournament, staged in Czechia, at the Ostravar Aréna

The event was first held in 2020, as a replacement event for other cancelled tournaments. In 2021, following the success of its inaugural edition, the tournament hosted then many Czechian fans for the first time.
The Ostrava Open is a WTA 500-level tournament normally held in October and played on indoor hard courts. It was first organized in 2020 after a 20-year absence to make up for the many tournaments cancelled during the 2020 season due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament was held until 2022, with the WTA announcing in June 2023 that the event would not return in 2023. It remains to be seen if the cancellation will be permanent. 
From 1994 to 1998, the Czech Indoor was a men’s tennis tournament that was part of the World Series of the ATP Tour. It was held at the ČEZ Aréna in Ostrava in the Czech Republic and was played on indoor carpet courts. In 1999, the Nokia Cup was a WTA Tour tournament. It was held in Prostějov in the Czech Republic and played on indoor carpet courts. It was won by Slovakian Henrieta Nagyová.
