Novak Djokovic bested
Stefanos Tsitsipas once more in the Rome final and following the final Tsitsipas spoke about Djokovic.
During the ceremony, Tsitsipas praised Djokovic for everything he has done in tennis citing him as an inspiration. Tsitsipas named Djokovic as a player he looked up to as well as showing him how high a tennis player can go which is level Tsitsipas aspired to get to as well. After the ceremony he compared Djokovic to a Formula One car saying:
"Djokovic is like a Formula 1 car: every small detail can disrupt his rhythm. He makes sure every single thing that he does is reaching as close to perfection as possible".
It's high praise from Tsitsipas but also the truth as Djokovic really strives to make every part of the game as best as it can be. Tsitsipas was also asked about the upcoming French Open where he played in the final last year and he named a few plays who can win it:
"Too many names. Rights now Carlos Alcaraz or Novak Djokovic, I would put them as favorites for RolandGarros. I hope I do with my hard work by the time Roland Garros begins. I'd love myself to get around with these players and be there with them".
