Katie Boulter hilariously roasted her new fiancé Alex de Minaur after they were defeated in the Indian Wells double pre-cursor at the Eisenhower Cup against American duo Ben Shelton and Emma Navarro.

Boulter quipped that it would be the 'second and last time' that she and her husband to be would be teaming up together. They were playing in the Eisenhower Cup initially as one of two power couples alongside Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas.

But the latter couple withdrew leaving Amanda Anisimova and Daniil Medvedev. Matches played took the Tiebreak Tens format where they play out a ten point tie-break.

Boulter and De Minaur were tied at 6-6 at one stage during the match. Before Shelton and Navarro capitalised on a mis-hit to go three points clear which funnily annoyed Boulter as a result of their post match Instagram comment.

She joked: 'Second... and last time.' as they were asked if they would team again. Albeit she jokingly then defended him. 'No he did! He was great!'

"I thought he was going to run for some of the shots but he left them to me. So that was awesome."

"To be honest, every ball I got a racket on I missed so I thought it would be better off if she hit every ball." said De Minaur in response.

He then joked 'there goes the wedding budget' in response to Boulter's Instagram which read 'fun night at Tiebreak Tens. Even though we lost I guess I'll keep him". Players got $200,000 for winning the one shot exhibition which was sealed by Rybakina and Fritz in the end.

There is also the US Open to think of. Elena Rybakina and Taylor Fritz both have said they could play together in the new controversial format. Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas power couple wise have already stated their intention too to be involved.
