Kenin who has not been in great form since claiming her first Grand Slam has bounced back superbly this week to claim the inaugural edition of the Lyon Open.
She defeated Anna-Lena Friedsam in a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 victory which included 75 percent on her first serve and 5/10 compared to 3/6 break points won by her opponent.
It is a fifth overall for the American who will now move up to World No.4 next week going into Indian Wells with Elina Svitolina also likely to be on the rise if she wins in Monterrey.
This victory also shows the real drive that Kenin has, many players after the Australian Open up until Miami and Indian Wells have decided to take time off.
In that period, the 21-year old despite picking up some defeats has played in the Fed Cup, Dubai, Doha in both singles and doubles and won Lyon with 4 back-to-back three set ties. It is tough to tell but this could be a masterstroke with Kenin now fresher than a lot of players returning to the court after Melbourne.
