The third day in Lyon will bring once again a lot of action with 4 out of 5 top-seeds in action at the Open 6ème Sens.
Finally, also the first-seeded Sofia Kenin will kick-off her campaign in Lyon. However, she will get on the court in the third match of the day as it will start with a clash of Alison Van Uytvanck and Viktoriya Tomova.
There will be a lot to watch for the home fans in the second match. The 4th-seeded Alizé Cornet will face Camila Giorgi. The Italian defeated French player in all of the last 4 appearances and so Cornet will attempt to change this statistic in front of the home crowd.
After winning the 2020 Australian Open, Sofia Kenin was not so successful in her next appearances. She defeated Anastasija Sevastova at the Fed Cup but then lost to Jelena Ostapenko. She also lost to Elena Rybakina in the first round in Dubai and also Dayana Yastremska defeated her in Doha. Now, the young American will take on Vitalia Diatchenko who is the lowest-ranked player she will meet since the Australian Open.
Two more French players will try to entertain the home crowd after Sofia's match. The third-seeded Caroline Garcia will take on Ysaline Bonaventure. And in the only match of unseeded players, Oceane Dodin will face Mandy Minella.
