Kim Clijsters announced her retirement from tennis again after spending about two years trying to get back into the game.
The Belgian player retired from tennis a couple of tennis in the past with the first one coming in 2007 after an injury forced her to abandon the game she loves. Upon returning she was able to resurrect her career in fabulous fashion winning a couple of grand slams after her return. She then announced her retirement again in 2012 with this one lasting almost a decade.
An itch to come back to the game prompted her to try and come back in 2020 however things did not as smoothly as planned. Clijsters played decent at times but some fitness issues, some injuries and the pandemic made things really hard for her. Ultimately it seems like Clijsters is done with tennis for good as she announced her 3rd retirement from the game today.
She posted about it on Instagram writing:
"Hi Guys,
I want to share with you that I have decided to no longer play official tournaments. I can't wait to see what new adventures will cross my path. Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the past two years! If you would like to read more about my decision, you can do that via the link below."
