The world no. 3 recently played the Charleston Open in which Belinda Bencic defeated her in the quarter-finals of the match but it will be a while until she's back in action.
Her country had chosen her as one of the participants of the team that was going to represent Spain in the
Billie Jean King Cup but because of physical issues, the Spanish player announced her departure from it. She made the announcement on Twitter writing:
“It is not an easy decision, who knows me knows how complicated it is for me not to be in a competition and I was especially looking forward to this one, but advised by my medical team and due to physical and medical problems with which I have had to compete in recent weeks, I will be out of the call for the BJK Cup.”
She further said:
“I will be cheering on my teammates in the distance with the desire to compete side by side with them in the next call.”
This is the 2nd time Badosa cancels her BJK participation as she abandoned plans to play at the event last year in order to better prepare for the WTA Finals. She ended up losing in the semifinals to Muguruza.
