Muguruza joins Halep in withdrawing from Miami Open, Charleston Open and Billie Jean King Cup due to injury

Garbine Muguruza is another top name who will play no part until the clay court season with the World Number Nine and current WTA Finals champion not playing this week in Miaami.

As well as future tournaments in Charleston and the Billie Jean King Cup due to a left shoulder injury with Madrid her first port of call in the clay court season according to social media.

Storm Sanders will replace her as a lucky loser in Miami as she joins Simona Halep who withdrew earlier today due to a thigh injury.

"Hello everyone, I wanted to let you know that unfortunately I have had to withdraw from Miami, Charleston and the BJKC due to an injury to my left shoulder that I have been carrying," she wrote on social media.

"After the tests that we have done these last few days, the recommendation of my doctors is to stop and recover well, I'm very sorry but I have to listen to my body. I am confident that everything will go well and I will do my best to start the clay court season in Madrid."
