Naomi Osaka shines once again in Miami, sends Kerber packing

Naomi Osaka continued her onslaught at the Miami Open with another stunning display taking down Angelique Kerber 6-2 6-3.

After a disappointing outing in Indian Wells, Noami Osaka travelled to her home state of Florida to play at the Miami Open. She did not play too well here last year and exited the event early however things look very different this year. After winning her 1st round match yesterday Osaka continued playing well today. She took an Angelique Kerber who is not playing too well at the moment and it showed.

Kerber struggled from the get-go as Osaka simply imposed her far superior baseline play. Kerber tried to counter it yet she was not able to do so as Osaka possessed overwhelming power. She took an early break and cruised to a 6-3 first set finish. Not much changed in the 2nd set as Osaka took another early break which sealed the deal quite quickly.

Kerber put up a solid effort from there but was unable to do anything that would prolong the match. Osaka cruised to a 6-3 2nd set finish. It's been a great week so far for Osaka in Miami as the Japanese player was greeted with positive chants yesterday. It continued today as well.
