Leylah Fernandez debuts new hairstyle ahead of remainder of hardcourt season: "I did something"

Canada’s young tennis star Leylah Fernandez showcased her new hairstyle ahead of the hardcourt season.

The 21-year-old is often regarded as one of the most highly-rated young players currently playing in the women’s singles category. Fernandez, in a post on her official account on the social media platform Instagram showed her new hairstyle.
It will be interesting to see whether the new hairstyle will bring her luck ahead of the hardcourt season. The Montreal-born had a disappointing outing in the recently concluded Australian Open.

She was knocked out after losing in the round of 64 to America’s Alycia Parks with a score of 7-5, 6-4. Fernandez broke on the scene in 2021 when she finished as the runner-up at the US Open after losing to Britain’s Emma Raducanu in the final with a score of 6-4, 6-3.

However, since then, not much has gone right for the current world number 21. In 2023, the Montreal-born played in the main draw of all four major events but failed to qualify for the third round or beyond in any of the competitions. In the last Grand Slam of the year, she was knocked out after losing in the first round to Russia’s Ekaterina Alexandrova with a score of 7-6, 5-7, 6-4.
