Czech Republic’s
Linda Noskova has revealed that she has
received some extremely hateful messages after suffering a defeat in the
semifinal of the
Abu Dhabi Open. The 20-year-old suffered a heartbreaking
defeat in the last-four clash to Ashlyn Krueger in straight sets with a score
of 7-6, 6-4.
Noskova posted on the social media platform the hateful message she received after the match. "Should I make this a tradition?" was the caption of her Instagram story. Even though the result was disappointing, the Vsetin-born star will be relatively satisfied with her performance. In the second round, she defeated the reigning world number 10 Paula Badosa, who recently played in the semifinal of the Australian Open, in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1.
In the quarterfinal, Noskova defeated Poland’s Magda Linette
in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 6-3. After securing that win against
Badosa, the 20-year-old explained her feelings and stated that she loves
playing at the night.
“I was feeling great,” Noskova said on court. “Obviously, I
like night sessions, and it was really my court tonight. I felt comfortable and
glad to be back on Center Court. Things are a lot more calm [at night], and
there’s a lot less things you can worry about or focus on. It’s really
comfortable for me. “I’m just looking forward to another match. I’ve had some
struggles in the beginning of the year, so I’m glad to have every match I can.”
Interestingly, Krueger, who defeated Noskova in the
semifinal, lost in the final to Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic with a score of
4-6, 6-1, 6-1.
