Madison Keys completed a brilliant week in Adelaide with a strong performance in the final against compatriot Riske to lift the trophy.
Keys endured a very hard 2022 filled with a lot of disappointing tennis but in 2022 things are already going better. The former grand slam semifinalist has a deadly game that is extremely hard to counter when fully unleashed and in Adelaide, it was on display. Great attacking play, precise shots from both sides and confidence to go along with it.
Riske experienced the full force of all of that which is why it took Keys only 68 minutes to wrap up the final. From the start of the match, it was clear that Madison was the better player. She played without fear and her opponent simply was not able to counter it in any way. She racked up quick leads in both sets and cruised from there.
It's a 6th career title for Keys who was by far the best player all week long. Well deserved.
