Petra Martic became the second finalist at the Zhengzhou Open after coping with Kristina Mladenovic comfortably in straight sets 6-0, 6-3.
In the first semifinal match
Karolina Pliskova lost only 5 games, but Martic decided to do even better and lost only 3 games. In the first set Croatian clearly dominated when she managed to win 6-0 just in 22 minutes. She had perfect statistics when she used 100% of break points and 91% of points after the first service.
In the second set, French player was more resentful when she got the break ball right in the first game, but couldn't use it. Subsequently, she turned the break ball away when her opponent got it in the fourth game and so players continued without loss of service until the eighth game. Since then, Martic managed to win 8 out of 10 points, winning the second set 6-3.
In the final, she will fight against Karolina Pliskova for her second title this year, after the triumph in Istanbul. If she wins in the finals, she could also move to her career,high in the
WTA ranking, 19th place.
