The British/American doubles pairing is looking to add yet another grand slam title after they won two consecutive US Open titles

Barbora Krejcikova found herself once again in the Australian Open Mixed doubles finals. The young Czech player has proven herself as one of the top doubles players in the world recently. She will have an opportunity to add another trophy on the 1st day of February when she and her partner Mektic will square off against Murray/Mattek - Sands.
The British - American combination has proven deadly on hard courts before, as this will be their 3rd Grand Slam final on that surface. They won their previous two which were both played at the US Open. So far, they played a good tournament which saw them dispatch the number one seeds Strycova and Melo in the 1st round. That would be the last time they dropped a set as they cruised to the final with ease.
Their opponents are defending Champion Krejcikova and her new partner Mektic. Mektic is no slouch in doubles as he had several top level finishes before. He never reached a grand slam final before so he should be additionally motivated before this one. In order to get to the finals they had to play a bit more as they dropped a set several times. However, they managed to overcome that each time and battle past their opponents which is a testament to their mental toughness.
The bookies heavily favour the British - American pairing and they do seem as the clear-cut favourites. They play together for a long time, they won slams together, they love hard courts and they are currently in form. It's hard to see how they can lose this final but in tennis anything can happen. And as opposed to singles, doubles is a bit trickier to predict.
