World No.5, Jessica Pegula has not played for sometime which means some crazy rumours can get spawned and she denied one that she was pregnant with a simple Instagram story of her on the court as she gears up for her comeback.
Pegula was dumped out by Clara Burel in the second round of the Australian Open after looking lacklustre in Adelaide and United Cup prior to that and she suffered a neck injury as the American's struggles to begin 2024 were confounded. It has been all change as of late for Pegula who has also dumped long-time coach David Witt as she aims to get over the previous hurdles including getting to a Grand Slam semi-final.
She withdrew in particular from Qatar and Dubai and her ranking fell as a result. Still in the Entry List for the San Diego Open next week, she may still decide to halt her comeback further until Indian Wells. "Not pregnant lol," Jessica Pegula said on her Instagram with a tennis racquet in her hand as a put down to the wild rumours.
These seem to be hit and miss with tennis fans with some saying the same about Petra Kvitova and Belinda Bencic and being correct but in the case of Pegula and Madison Keys, these have been shut down as simply injuries.
