Novak Djokovic's PTPA released a statement on Halep's ban offering help in her appeal case that could determine whether she remains banned or not.
Simona Halep has been provisionally banned from tennis after testing positive for a banned substance at the US Open. She provided another sample, but the test returned positive, confirming the initial ruling.
She released a statement explaining that she'll fight for the truth and she'll have help from the PTPA if she needs it. The Djokovic-backed organization released a statement after the suspension came out:
"The PTPA is committed to ensuring that Simona Halep, and every player, has a fair appeal and complete due process. We will fight for her rights and look to advocate for fairness and transparency for all players."
From the start, the PTPA framed itself as an organization that cares about it's players more than the ATP and WTA ahve demonstrated over the past few years. We'll see whether the actions back up the claims.
