Canadian tennis star Leylah Fernandez has not stopped heaping praise on Taylor Townsend, with whom she finished runner-up at the recent Miami Open.
Although the pair fell to the All-American duo of Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula in the final, Fernandez has not stopped showering her partner with praise.
"Oh, she's amazing, she's so positive and I don't know how to say it but she's very energetic on court," Fernandez said in an interview this week with The Tennis Channel. "Like every time I play with her, she's giving me pointers here and there in a positive way, which makes me feel good and I'm just super happy to be playing with her."
The 2021 US Open finalist added she has been learning a lot from Townsend, considering the veteran American also happens to be a left-handed player.
"I'm learning from her, she's also left-handed, so I get to see how she serves, how she does her volleys, and what she does with angles," admitted Fernandez. "So it's amazing to learn from a fellow lefty."
