Aryna Sabalenka and Paula Badosa have begun a hilarious back and forth after the latter picked Ons Jabeur as her best friend on the tour. The trio are known to be close off the court and spent time together practicing at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.
Sabalenka and Badosa shared a warm embrace at the net after practice and Jabeur hilariously walked in with a broom playfully pushing away Sabalenka from Badosa. The rivalry for Badosa's affections continued with the Spaniard calling Jabeur her best friend in her post match interview after being quizzed by the Tunisian.
"Very important question, because everybody wants to know, who is your best friend on tour?" Jabeur asked."You," the Spaniard replied. To which Jabeur shouted: "Send me the tape! Send me."
"Sorry @sabalenka_aryna @paulabadosa," she posted on her Instagram story to which Sabalenka responded jokingly. "Ok bye @paulabadosa You lost me now!!!" and Badosa implied that the switch was due to Jabeur being there after her win over Diana Shnaider. "Hahahahaha noooooooo 😫! But....Where were you after my match? @sabalenka_aryna I love you both ok? @onsjabeur," she responded.
Friendship will turn into rivalry again later this week with Sabalenka set to face Badosa for the second time in as many tournaments. They faced off at the Miami Open with Sabalenka winning despite the inner turmoil of losing her ex-boyfriend, Konstantin Koltsov days before. Despite likely carrying that baggage, the World No.2 is still jovial and that has been shown this week having her best friends close.
