A host of tennis stars accepted the challenge Tunisia’s
Ons Jabeur proposed. The 29-year-old is often regarded as one of the most likeable characters in women’s tennis and often comes up with interesting things on
social media platforms.
The world number nine recently came up with an exciting challenge
for her colleagues as she managed to show some skills with her feet and ensured
that the ball would not touch the ground in a video posted on the social media platform
Instagram with the caption: "Show me what you got". Jabeur tagged the men’s world number three,
Carlos Alcaraz, Britain’s
Emma Raducanu and Spain’s
Paula Badosa. Interestingly, all players accepted the
challenge. “I’ll do it,” wrote Alcaraz. “I have feet left,” wrote Raducanu. “Woho…I’ll
show you,” wrote Badosa.
Jabeur is going through a difficult season where she has
only managed to play in the quarterfinal or beyond of just two competitions out
of nine. Her most recent appearance came in the Rome Open, where she was knocked
out after losing in the round of 64 to America’s Sofia Kenin with a score of
7-5, 2-6, 6-4. It will be interesting to see whether she can
resurrect her form ahead of the French Open, where she does not have an excellent record. Her best outing came last year when Brazil’s Beatriz Haddad Maia defeated her in the quarterfinal with a score of 3-6, 7-6, 6-1.
