The moment Ons Jabeur reached her first Grand Slam semi-final #Wimbledon | #CentreCourt100
Ons Jabeur had a rocky start against Marie Bouzkova but the Tunisian player was able to rally in time and outplay her opponent in the end 3-6 6-1 6-1.
Jabeur has been widely considered the favourite to win this event thanks to her grass prowess and with Simona Halep play well as well, it seems like it's going to be one of them to win it. Today, it looked like Jabeur might be heading home after Bouzkvoa came out with a superb level in the opening set. She was not missing and she was everywhere on the court forcing the Tunisian into mistakes.
The opening set was about as good as the Czech player can play and she was not able to keep it up. From the start of the 2nd set, we saw a more inspired Jabeur who took things way more seriously in the 2nd set. It shoed in her level as she was able to jump out to an early break and hold it from there. Jabeur added another one later on as the level of Bouzkova dropped off considerably.
The final set was a very similar one in the sense that Bouzkova was simply unable to keep up with Jabeur who continued playing superbly. From great return, great serving, strong baseline play and timely drop shots, Jabeur was simply outplaying her opponent with ease. She cruised to a 6-1 finish in the final set as well booking her maiden grand slam semifinal.
