Paula Badosa is only two matches away from winning back-to-back Indian Wells titles as the Spaniard eased past Kudermetova 6-3 6-2.
The Spanish player loves to play in Indian Wells and there is something that simply works for her in the Californian desert. After shaking off a rough going in the Persian Gulf with a few wins here, Badosa continued to play great tennis ousting a very inspired Kudermetova who was in top form herself. Badosa was superb from the start and after getting a break midway through the set she finished it off with 6-3.
She was superb on her first serve winning the majority of points while also saving the only break point she faced. On return, she attacked Kudermetova on her 2nd serve winning 7/9 of those points. It was well enough for a comfortable first set win.
Things did not change much in the 2nd set as Badosa jumped out to an early lead in the 2nd set as well. The story was quite similar. Badosa dominated on her own serve with superb serving and composed play while attacking Kudermeova on her 2nd serve. Eventually, she added another break to finish it off with 6-2.
