Petkovic given "green light" to return to training but won't be at Australian Open

Petkovic revealed that she has been given the "green light" to return to training; but that it is too early for her to return for the Australian Open.

As a result, the German will be aiming for the Fed Cup or Dubai in order to make her comeback to the tour after being diagnosed with a bruised knee in December.

"Me and my team have decided it is too early to go to Australia and play the Australian Open. We are going to take time to rebuild everything and be in really good shape before I start practising really hard again. I am aiming for Fed Cup maybe in February if I get nominated or Dubai."
