Czech tennis star Petra Kvitova opened the new year with news of her pregnancy, and the former World No.1 was inundated with well-wishes from fans and fellow WTA players.
The two-time Grand Slam champion announced her pregnancy on December 31st, 2023, posting the good news on her Instagram account. Kvitova is married to Jiri Vanek, who is also her coach. The duo have been together since 2016 and got engaged in August 2022. They tied the knot in a private ceremony in Prague in July 2023.

Kvitova also announced her withdrawal from the entire Australian swing, including the 2024 Australian Open, which starts on January 14.
"While I will miss my annual trip to Australia and competing in the sport I love, I'm looking forward to spending some time at home preparing for this exciting next chapter in our lives," added Kvitova.
