Petra Kvitova pregnancy news sees responses from Iga Swiatek, Caroline Wozniacki and Ashleigh Barty

Czech tennis star Petra Kvitova opened the new year with news of her pregnancy, and the former World No.1 was inundated with well-wishes from fans and fellow WTA players.
The two-time Grand Slam champion announced her pregnancy on December 31st, 2023, posting the good news on her Instagram account. Kvitova is married to Jiri Vanek, who is also her coach. The duo have been together since 2016 and got engaged in August 2022. They tied the knot in a private ceremony in Prague in July 2023.

"On the first day of 2024 I wanted to wish you a happy new year and share the exciting news that Jiri and I will be welcoming a baby into our family this summer! 👼 ," wrote Kvitova.
Several WTA stars were quick to respond, expressing their support and joy at the former Wimbledon winner's good news.
"So happy for you, congratulations." wrote World No.1 Iga Swiatek.
"Congratulations!! ❤️ so happy for you ❤️" said 2018 Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki.
"Congratulations ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️," said former World No.1 Ashleigh Barty.
"Congrats, so happy for you 😍😍😍," said German tennis veteran Sabine Lisicki
"Congrats ❤️❤️❤️." wrote recent mom Angelique Kerber.
Kvitova also announced her withdrawal from the entire Australian swing, including the 2024 Australian Open, which starts on January 14.
"While I will miss my annual trip to Australia and competing in the sport I love, I'm looking forward to spending some time at home preparing for this exciting next chapter in our lives," added Kvitova.
