Potapova smashes Gauff in Stuttgart

Anastasia Potapova defeated Coco Gauff once more 6-3 6-2 at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix after beating the American a month ago at the Miami Open.

The Russian defeated Gauff in Miami a month ago and she now did it again at in Stuttgart though this time around she took only two sets. In Miami, three sets were needed as Gauff was inches away from the win but this time around everything was clear pretty early. The Russian utilized her better shot-making ability compared to Gauff to finish off rallies and it worked out in her favour.

Gauff admitted yesterday that she'll never be a big hitter like Rybakina and it certainly doesn't favour her when she comes up against one such as Potapova. The Russian had no problem hitting through Gauff winning in two easy sets. The serve wasn't working that well for Gauff and she gave a lot of looks on the second serve to her opponent which she used.

Gauff won only 30 % of points on her second serve and that was a glaring issue in the match.
