Former player David Ferrer believes Jannik Sinner is a future world number one and grand slam champion as he's the player that impresses him the most.
Jannik Sinner is a very impressive player and has established himself as one of the best young players. Even after being overtaken by Alcaraz as the most successful young player, Sinner still impresses David Ferrer the most out of the young generation. The former star considers him a future grand slam champion and certainly world number one:
"I consider Jannik a very good player who is improving every year, reaching his goals, and I am sure he will have his chances to win a Grand Slam and become No. 1. In fact, among the young players he is the one who impresses me the most because of the power of his shots and his margin for improvement, which is still very wide."
Asked about the rivalry between Sinner and Alcaraz, Ferrer said that that it could be a great one but there are many good players:
“It could be, but there is no shortage of good players out there. There is also Sebastian Korda, who is improving all the time. But at the moment, yes, these are two players who have a clear idea of what their goal is and are very ambitious. From this point of view it is a good rivalry because, moreover, they are both good people and I like that. They are humble, respectful and the fact that players of this level are like this is good for the sport in general.”
