The WTA 500 Mérida Open will be played on outdoor hard courts in its third edition, set to take place at the Yucatán Country Club in Mérida, Mexico, from February 24 to March 1, 2025. The prize money and points distribution have been confirmed, with $1,064,510 on offer.
This year’s Mérida Open will feature big names, including top-10 players Paula Badosa and Emma Navarri, alongside other notable competitors such as Marta Kostyuk (No. 19), Donna Vekic (No. 20), and Maria Sakkari (No. 29).
The 2025 champion will receive $164,000 and 500 ranking points. Defending champion Zeynep Sonmez returns after claiming her maiden WTA title last year, when she defeated Ann Li in the final (6-2, 6-1). The runner-up this year will earn $101,000.
Semifinalists will take home $59,000 and 195 points, more than double the $28,695 and 108 points awarded to quarterfinalists. Players who reach the second round will receive $28,695 and 60 ranking points, while first-round exits will earn just 1 WTA point and $11,300 in prize money.
