Qinwen Zheng on key to defeating imperious Iga Swiatek: "The girls with a different approach can beat her"

Qinwen Zheng was the player that got closest to beating Iga Swiatek at Roland Garros and she talked about it in a recent interview.

It came during a season that was largely her breakout year as she solidified herself as a top player on the WTA Tour ensuring a top-50 stay. Zheng won the opening set against Swiatek in that match but then faltered as the match went on and in a recent interview she talked about what needs to happen for players to beat her:

"This year was really exceptional. She has very good spin on sand, it's hard to beat her there, but on hard surfaces I think the girls with a different approach can beat her."

She added:

"I am looking forward to taking the place of one of the top players next year. I am truly willing to submit everything to this."
