Emma Raducanu fell for a prank on social media which featured Carlos Alcaraz seemingly talking about Raducanu in his post-match interview however it never happened.
A Twitter profile shared a photo that featured Raducanu in her hospital bed and Carlos Alcaraz during his post-match interview on the tennis channel with an accompanying quote. The problem is that the quote is fake and Alcaraz never said anything of Raducanu however for a brief moment she thought he did and shared it on her official Twitter profile.
She deleted it pretty quickly after that but it was too slow for the Internet and screenshots of it happening started to circulate pretty quickly. A good reminder that much of what you see online is not true. Even verified sources can get it wrong.
