Emma Raducanu will make a return next week and it will be good for her after not playing many matches over the past few months.
Following her incredible victory at the 2021 US Open, which catapulted her to global fame, Emma Raducanu, now 20 years old, has faced setbacks in the form of injuries and a decline in performance. Despite her attempts to advance her career Raducanu mainly struggled to gain momentum on the WTA Tour.
Since last October when she played in Seoul, Raducanu managed only 10 matches which is a very low number for a player who is both in need of matches and points. There were injuries along the way but her scheduling also didn't take advantage of some of the events either.
Interestingly, most of those matches were actually played this year which is a positive trend however she's been out during the start of the clay season as well. This week we have the Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers with her return scheduled for next week in Stuttgart. She confirmed earlier that she won't play for Great Britain despite returning only two days later in Germany.
