America’s young tennis star Coco Gauff is on the verge of achieving
another milestone in the US Open 2023.
The fourth and final Grand Slam of the year is moving
towards its conclusion where remaining players are still battling it out to
secure the ultimate prize.
Gauff has booked her place in the final of the mega-event after
defeating Czech Republic’s Karolina Muchova in straight sets with a score of
6-4, 7-5.
In case of a win, the Atlanta-born will go as high as third
in the WTA rankings whereas a defeat will keep her in fifth place.
It will be interesting to see how Gauff will perform in her second
appearance in the final of a Grand Slam after finishing runner-up in the French
Open 2022 where she came second-best against the former world number one Poland’s
Iga Swiatek with a score of 6-1, 6-3.
