Rybakina who has made the final in every non Grand Slam tournament she has played in this year is in exceptional form and will hope to add to her win in Hobart.
Her other finals have come in St Petersburg which was last weekend when she lost to Kiki Bertens and Shenzhen where she lost to Ekatarina Alexandrova.
It could have been so much different though against Martic who in the 7-6 (5), 7-6 (2) defeat led by a break in each set.
She also had a set point in each set but couldn't convert in the end allowing the Kazakh ace to win through by the slimmest of margins in straight sets but both in tiebreaks.
In terms of statistics, this was shown with Martic claiming the honours on first serve with 77 percent but Rybakina won more points off hers with 60 percent compared to 50.
Martic also won more points with 45 compared to 42 but it is not the eighth seed going into the final. Rybakina will now take on either number one seed Simona Halep or the brilliant Jennifer Brady who are just beginning their semi-final clash.
