Aryna Sabalenka only dropped three games to defeat
Marie Bouzkova and advance to the round of 16 at the
Miami Open with a score of 6-1, 6-2.
World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka had no major problems defeating the Czech player Bouzkova in just over an hour and twenty minutes. The Belarusian player came into the match after winning in two sets against Shelby Rogers and continues with her confidence high to be a candidate for the title.
Bouzkova and Sabalenka had never faced each other in their careers, but it was no impediment for the Australian Open champion to achieve two breaks in the first set and take a 6-1 lead. The second set was not much different and she again achieved two breaks that allowed her to comfortably win by 6-2.
In the next round, she will face a more dangerous opponent, the former French Open champion
Barbora Krejcikova, who gave Sabalenka one of the two losses she has in this season (the other was against Rybakina in the Indian Wells final).
