Aryna Sabalenka cruised in her
Miami Open match setting up a clash against Krejcikova which should be a proper treat for tennis fans around the world.
Sabalenka is playing really well right now, quite similar to how she played at the Indian Wells Masters last week but she's also dealing with a groin injury. The injury is affecting her play but you wouldn't easily spot that if you simply watched her play. It's an ongoing issue that she's managing in the best way possible:
“We are working on that. I would say I have the best team and I
really trust them and believe that they can fix it. It definitely felt
much better. I have a few exercises that I have to do
during the match to control this muscle, but my team did everything so
that I don’t focus on my leg and I focus on my game.”
The 6-1 6-2 win over Bouzkova looked effortless and she was happy for things to go that smoothly:
“There were really great things from me. I felt like everything I was doing was right and I am super happy with the level.”
It won't get any easier as she's facing Barbora Krejcikova next up and on that, Sabalenka said:
“I think if you give her some time she can put the ball wherever she wants to. It’s tough. So you have to put a lot of pressure on her. You have to be really aggressive on the court and not give her too much time and make her really work for it. She’s a great player and it’s always tough battles against her.”
