"I can't believe these people enjoy watching my matches for me": Alcaraz left starstruck with NBA icon Jimmy Butler watching on during Lajovic win

Days after Carlos Alcaraz watched NBA All-Star Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat play, the American returned the favour by coming over and watching Alcaraz play tennis.

Butler picked a really good match to do so as Alcaraz was sensational beating Lajovic 6-0 in the first set and then giving fans some more tennis by complicating things in the second set. Being a crowd magnet for celebrities and athletes he grew up watching feels a bit surreal to Alcaraz but he's part of that elite circle now:

"Well, I feel great, you know, to see, like, celebrities watching my matches. It's unbelievable. I feel a little bit nervous when I see a person like Jimmy [Butler], celebrities, when I was playing, like, in the US Open. For me, it's unbelievable, you know. In certain ways, I can't believe that these people enjoy watching my matches for me. It's crazy."

Butler actually sat down with the APTTour for some tennis talk as the American noted how poised Alcaraz is for such a young age. Butler himself entered the NBA fairly young and worked his way to become one of the elite players of the sport. He said:

“He’s always poised. He’s never rattled and more than anything, it looks like he’s having so much fun out there. I think whenever you have fun and you have that mentality that you know you’re the best, you go out there and you play as though you’re the best, results happen and he’s not No. 1 for no reason.”
