Serena and Venus Williams buy into golf league backed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy

The TGL league, currently backed by golf stars Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, have received new investors in the form of Serena Williams and Venus Williams, who have bought the first of six golf teams in the league.
The tennis icons, alongside Serena's husband Alexis Ohanian, have purchased 'Los Angeles Golf Club', which will be based in California.
“I like betting big – and betting early – on things in sports,” Ohanian said. “What’s so attractive about this is that you’ve already got a globally recognized, incredibly popular sport, with the best players in the world committed.
“Now they’ve engineered a format that finally makes sense for a casual fan who just wants to get excited and fired up.”
