After withdrawing in her first round
Wimbledon match against
Aliaksandra Sasnovich due to a scary slip that resulted in a freak injury, it looks like
Serena Williams will be ready to return to the courts in time for this summer's
US Open.
William's Agent, Jill Smoller, revealed in an interview with TMZ that the 23-time Grand Slam champion was doing well in her recovery.
“She’s doing great," Smoller said. "She’s just doing rehab on it at the moment.”
Smoller went on to confirm that the 39-year old would be competing at Flushing Meadows, as she resumes her quest for a record-tying 24th Grand Slam trophy. Williams announced that she would be skipping this summer's
Olympic Games in Tokyo, but it seems like the WTA legend will be ready for the US Open, which begins on August 30.
