Serena Williams began her 2020 Australian Open campaign in style when she did not spend more than an hour on the court in her first-round match.

Serena Williams kicked-off the Australian Open with a 6-0 victory in the first set.
Serena lost her service game in the second, however, she continued in a good performance to win it 6-3. After a comfortable victory in just 59 minutes, Williams can rest to gain energy for her 2nd round match. In the 2nd round at the Australian Open, she will be facing Tamara Zidansek who was successful against Na-Lae Han in the first round.
Also, Williams' good friend, Caroline Wozniacki, will be playing in the 2nd round in Melbourne. The Danish player started in Australia with 6-3, 6-1 victory over Kristie Ahn.
Two American young-stars were successful as well. Ann Li defeated Lizette Cabrera in two tie-breaks and Sofia Kenin outplayed Martina Trevisan. Barbora Krejcikova and Sorana Cirstea were the other players successful in Serena's half of the draw.
