Serena Williams made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday to promote 'King Richard', the upcoming biopic of her family starring Will Smith.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion stated it was bizarre to watch her life unfold on the big screen, as she relived events from her childhood and early tennis career.
“It was really surreal,” Williams told Kimmel. “I feel like I’m at an age where maybe I shouldn’t be a movie on the screen right now. There’s a few more decades before that should happen.”
Kimmel later asked the former World No.1 if a few scenes in the movie actually occurred as depicted, with Williams coyly refusing to answer some of them.
“Why are you putting me in this situation?” said Serena. “I plead the fifth.”
King Richard premieres in theaters and on HBO Max (where it will initially run for 30 days) on Nov. 19, 2021.
