Serena says she won't be playing at the Olympics
Serena Williams has been rather vague on her Tokyo Olympic Games participation and now she confirmed she won't be attending them. Earlier in the year, she said she would not play the Olympics if she was not allowed to bring her daughter Olympia with her. Considering the pandemic situation in Japan that might have been the case that prompted this decision. Serena would not elaborate on the reasons.
Asked if she was on the Team USA Olympics List she said she was not and if she was she should not be on it:
"There's a lot of reasons that I made my Olympic decision, and I don't feel like going into them today, but maybe another day."
Serena confirmed that to Eleanor Crooks, tennis correspondent to PA. We will have more details when they become available.
