Serena Williams suffered a very unfortunate injury at
Wimbledon and the implications are severe as she will drop out of the top 10.
Serena Williams played only six games at the 2021 Wimbledon retiring from her 1st round match due to an injury. The injury happened during a tumble she experienced on the very slippery courts. The American reached the final in 2019 and she was defending 1300 points ahead of the event.
With the unfortunate retirement, she will lose most of those points which will severely impact her ranking. She will drop out of the top 10 even out of the top 15 all the way up to 16. And that scenario is the best-case scenario for Serena. It will affect her draws in the future making things a lot tougher for the fading superstar.
