Serena Williams and
Venus Williams will play doubles for one final time at the
US Open having received wild cards into the event.
The Williams sister have been one of the most formidable doubles pairings in history. Despite having a professional rivalry in the singles, the sisters played a bunch of times together over the years. They played 23 finals together winning 22 and dropping only one.
14 of those finals were grand slam finals and they never lost a grand slam final. They have been Olympic gold medalists three times with the last time being in 2012. Their last trophy together came in 2016 when they won their 6th Wimbledon trophy together.
We'll see them compete one final time this year as they entered the US Open doubles main draw with wild cards. Perhaps Venus can help Serena get a proper send-off.
