Emma Raducanu is a very prominent topic in the tennis world ever since her breakout run in New York last year.
The British player has a very unique life story having been born in Canada and growing up in the United Kingdom. Neither of her parents are British by birth with her father hailing from Romania and her mother hailing from China. That unique background has to do with Emma's flavour for tennis as her two idols growing up are hailing from the same countries as her parents.
Speaking to Vogue she said:
"Growing up, the two players that I looked up to were Li Na because of her mental strength and incredible movement and
Simona Halep, because I love the way she played and was able to fight, without being the biggest player out there."
She also spoek about her pre-match routine saying:
"I practice and have a good meal before the game to make sure I have enough fuel in the tank. This changes from tournament to tournament, but it’s usually pasta or rice and fish. I will get in my match kit after practice and I’ll usually relax until it’s time to play. I’ll do another physical warm-up before going on court."
