Simona Halep reunited with one of her biggest supporters in former coach Darren Cahill after two years at Miami Open

Simona Halep will make her tennis return on Tuesday evening when she takes on Paula Badosa in the opening round of the 2024 Miami Open and ahead of the tournament starting, her first since September 2022, she was reunited with a familiar face and someone who has supported her throughout her ordeal.

That being former coach, Darren Cahill who has since gone on to have sterling success with Jannik Sinner who he co-coaches with Simone Vagnozzi. But amid the return of Halep, Cahill shared his delight at her getting 'justice' and said he couldn't wait to see her again at Miami and it seems that meeting has taken place.

A fan account named 'Romanian Tennis' shared an image of Cahill and Halep during a practice session at the Miami Open as she watched on. Cahill coached Halep in two separate spells between 2016-2018 in which they won their first Grand Slam together as well as latterly 2019-2021 before she decided to join Patrick Mouratoglou. Throughout the saga though, he has protested her innocence and has remained one of her closest allies.
