Spain to play Fed Cup Finals in Budapest after defeating Japan

The team of Spain was flawless against Japan in Centro de Tenis La Manga Club in Murcia during the Fed Cup Qualifiers as they secured the spot in the Fed Cup Finals in Budapest.

4 teams are already qualified for the Fed Cup Finals which will take place in Budapest from 14-19 of April 2020. Spain as the fifth-seeded nation in the qualifiers confirmed the role of the favorite by defeating Japan. Therefore, they became the fifth country confirmed to play at the 2020 Fed Cup Finals.
Everything started already yesterday. Sara Sorribes Tormo defeated Naomi Osaka 6-0, 6-3 and led Spain to the first victory on home clay. She was later followed by Carla Suarez Navarro who defeated Misaki Doi 6-3, 6-4 on the first day.
Spaniards entered the second day with a comfortable 2-0 lead as Suarez Navarro was set to face Naomi Osaka. However, the former world number one pulled out of the tie and she was replaced by Kurumi Nara. Spanish no. 1 did not experience any major difficulties against the Japanese player when she managed to win 6-1, 6-3.
The following 4th singles match was canceled as Spain was already a clear winner of the tie. However, coaches gave a chance to their players no. 3 and 4 in doubles. Arrubarrena and Bolsova Zadoinov will face Aoyama and Shibahara.
