Elina Svitolina not only continued her incredible Summer return, but also her superb record over Daria Kasatkina to reach the Quarter-Finals of the DC Open.
Svitolina who came into the tournament unseeded saw off the No.5 seed 6-2, 6-2 to extend her record to 8-0 over the World No.1. In those eight matches, she has lost a mere two sets.

Two of those wins are this year with this one and also at Roland Garros, with both showing respect to each other again post match as Kasatkina has been very much scathing of the Russian regime and open about her own treatment.
But this time in DC, there was not booing like in Paris. For Svitolina though, she just continues to produce lights out tennis hitting 29 winners with 22 on her forehand.
She saved all 10 break points she faced in just over an hour and a half in the sweltering conditions. Next up is No.1 seed Jessica Pegula or lucky loser, Peyton Stearns.
"I just try to fight each time I play Dasha. She's a tough opponent to face, and each time, I try to play just one extra ball over the net, to take and dictate the game. I'm really happy I won the match today," said Svitolina.

Apparently they did some Midnight Marketing and stole antique and collectible items belonging to the landlord's family (including large furniture and miscellaneous Family History items). The old guy and his mother just want their 'history' back, even though they are losing thousands of Euro's in 6 months of unpaid rent. This man makes it clear the father is the main player behind this sudden disappearance (and the tax dodging in Italy).
