Elina Svitolina is not changing her stance on her fellow colleagues who come from Russia and Belarussia as she wants them to be banned from the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Ukranian tennis player was one of only a few tennis players that openly praised Wimbledon for their ban on players coming from Russia and Belarus. Her stance never changed after that as she campaigned to have them banned from most major competitions whether it's tennis or some other sport.
So far the campaign didn't yield too many results with the Olympics games unlikely to follow suit either. They will most likely be allowed to participate under a neutral flag, something Svitolina called the wrong decision:
"It's going to be very sad, and the wrong message would be sent to the world if the Olympics going to stay with the decision to put them [Russia and Belarus] under a neutral flag. I don't think this is the right decision."
There has been speculation that Ukraine athletes might boycott the games if Russians and Belarussians are allowed to participate and Svitolina confirmed it as one of the options:
"Boycott would be one of the options because obviously what Russian army is doing to Ukrainian people, to Ukraine, it's a horrible thing for us. I cannot imagine going to the Olympics like nothing is happening to Ukraine."
